Cycle Race PCC August 24th 2014

On a deceptively sunny day, I decided to take 2 recently acquired pieces of equipment for a test run:

The Zontes Tiger - 3A 125cc Motorcycle
and a trusty Canon 700d mid range camera

Here are some of the memories........unedited.

The Peterborough Cycling Club is the oldest continuously active cycling club in the country. Although other clubs claim to have been founded at an earlier date, the Peterborough is, to the best of our knowledge, the only one that has not ceased to exist at some point and then been reformed. Although the club badge shows 1874, latest research into the clubs history, has shown that it was actually founded in 1873.
The Peterborough Cycling Club has seen many great riders pass through its ranks over the years, including national champions like Jeremy Harrison, Fiona Harrison, John French and Brett Harwood.
Through the season the club holds regular time trials for all categories including school boys/girls, juniors, ladies and men. The club also runs an open road race, an off road ride and several social and charity events.
Club Runs leave Cathedral Square every Sunday morning as they have since the 1800s. Training and Intermediate rides leave at 09:00, and a Social ride at 09:30. The Social ride is a time-honoured Club Run sticking together at a moderate pace, and suitable for newcomers and those wanting a relaxing ride. In late 2009 a further run was established, leaving Orton Mere at 07:30 on Saturday mornings.
